HARRINGTON TAKES PART IN CEREMONY

Dan Harrington took part in a ceremony that celebrated his induction into the hall of fame. During his career, Dan Harrington collected more than $6.6 million in tournament earnings, a formidable amount considering he doesn’t play too many events anymore. Harrington won the main event in 1995, and made four final tables at the main event, including back-to-back appearances at the height of the poker boom in 2003-04. He won two WSOP bracelets in May 1995 when he took first place in $2,500 no-limit hold’em and then won the main event three days later. Harrington also won a title on the World Poker Tour with a $1.6 million score at the 2007 Legends of Poker at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles.

Harrington’s nickname “Action Dan” was spawned out of an inside joke because he has the table image of an extremely tight player. In the end, the joke was on Harrington’s opponents, because he has more than exploited that preconceived notion to his benefit.
